Review of Contempt (1963) by Reece L — 26 Mar 2014
Resist the urge to scoff at the pretention; underneath the deliberately opaque storytelling is a treasure-trove of intellectual and philosophical subtext that challenges simplistic interpretations of life in favor of the subtle and complex, tied into the ideas of this era of filmmaking (the occurance of unsolvable delimas and the cruelty of life for all) and the story of Homer's Odyssey.
