Review of Contagion (2011) by Gio A — 08 Aug 2012
Don't Touch Your Face! Steven Soderbergh delivers an intense pre-apocalypse pandemic in which a wide cast of characters scream into telephones and try not to foam at the mouth. Sure, there's nothing really special here--it's just another Outbreak--but I found the tracking of the virus to be quite compelling even if the characters work only depending on how much you enjoy the actors.
Soderbergh establishes creepy sickly fear thanks to simple closeups of hands on subway poles. Gross. VF (yep, shocked).
