Review of Contagion (2011) by Christine C — 07 Apr 2013
This is definitely a germophobic 's worst nightmare but this film is very timely and touching. Contagion is the perfect combination of suspense, horror, drama and thriller genres. The cinematography fits in so well with well-written script.
It's a very superb film. The actors and actresses were so natural. The smallest detail of information that was stated in the film will pull you in no matter how boring it may be to listen to in real life.
The transition of the scenes was carefully executed. I think whether you're in to this kind of story or not... after watching the film, you're just going to find it irresistible and you'll embrace it for what it is.
I think the only negative thing about it is that there was no excitement.... just mere suspense. Nothing could be worse than the catastrophe already existing so no one should really expect a breath taking climax, plus when a person gets the symptoms, the audience already knows what's next.
.. the dude is going to die. Overall, it showed how one event like the spread of a virus can affect the whole world at large and how it affects peoples' lives at the smallest ways. Great film!
