Review of Contagion (2011) by Omar L — 26 Aug 2014
An excellent movie that shows how humanity can be its own worst enemy when dealing with a crisis. Devoid of mass hysterics, Soderbergh paints a sobering picture that shows how the methodology behind the scientific method is best utilized in the hands of altruists.
It also shows how homeopathy and distrust of western medicine is tantamount to criminal ignorance. Knowing that the uneducated and paranoid can hurt humanity, it's no wonder that those in charge would keep as tight a hold on information lest panics erupt and hamper research.
