Review of Contagion (2011) by Steven S — 01 Nov 2013
One damn good movie! This film focuses on a very real, perhaps very eminent situation of global pandemic and what could happen in that circumstance. With man's ability to cross the face of the earth within hours, so can deadly illness travel with him. If that sounds far- fetched, look at history and see how many times that happened: Bubonic plague, which killed over ONE THIRD of Europe's entire population. Western transmission of measles and like illness which devastated North and Central American Indian population. Spanish Flu, in early 1900's which killed more people than WW I, the deadliest war in history.
There has been a few flu scares as of late, which didn't materialize leaving people to become apathetic to health warnings. What happens in this film will change your perception of all that - quick!!!
