Review of Contagion (2011) by Joseph T — 17 May 2014
This is kind of a mess. I think primarily because they are trying to weave too many characters' stories into one movie. Characters appear for a couple scenes and then you don't see them for a half hour (especially Marion Cotillard's character), so it's hard to feel any emotions for them.
Even Matt Damon's character, who you are supposed to feel bad for, I found myself not really caring about. The plot is definitely scary and makes you think about using more hand sanitizer. But at times I felt bored, and it's pretty easy to predict where the story is going.
People like Bryan Cranston are wasted here. With all these stars, I expected better.
