Review of Contagion (2011) by James K — 20 Dec 2013
Very well-paced, thought-out screenplay with a documentary feel to depict the many days of a world-wide epidemic, of which the scale is difficult to grasp. The dedication to one's cause was honestly displayed: a father protecting his daughter, scientists racing to produce a vaccine, bureacrates being selfish, commoners turning to criminals, opportunistic rich-wanna-be.
..it's all here. The linear progression of what could have been very pulsatile is perhaps the one major setback to make this narrative excellent. It's too documentary and investigative to be more exciting as it could have been.
