Review of Contact (1997) by Moya W — 20 Apr 2011
Contact is a science-fiction, at least that's what it says it is, but it's not as exciting or interesting as a science-fiction can be. This is a movie that isn't made for everyone. It's made for the people who understand astronomy, for the people who understand the hype of it. The movie was quite complicating, and not really understanding what was happening and what the characters were talking about, made it hard to keep yourself awake during it.
This movie started to become enjoyable when it was twenty-five minutes left of it, but that doesn't make up for the two hours that almost made you fall asleep.
Jena Malone was the highlight of this movie, just a shame that she wasn't in the movie enough. She didn't really look like she could be a young Jodie Foster, but she was certainly the best actor in the movie.
It's sad to say that this movie was a disappointment, and it's sad that you never really get any answers to all the questions. Since this science-fiction isn't about the creatures that actually live on other planets, but rather the questions that ask if there actually are creatures on other planets, it just ended up not being as exciting.
