Review of Contact (1997) by Mary Kathryn P — 01 May 2011
As with most movies of its kind, many movie reviewers cannot appreciate the great amounts of spiritual insight Contact brings to its audience. You don't necessarily need to be a religious person to relate or enjoy this eyeopening piece of cinematic art.
Visual effects were so surprisingly perfect I thought it was made during the 21st century. I suppose with a budget of 90 million great things are bound to happen. The only factor that prevented this film from earning a 5 star rating from me was the fact that I thought the heroine of the story wasn't as passionate in her acting skills of expressions that would have truly sent inspirational waves to the audience.
If you are an impatient person prone to become bored with movies that portray a journey to something greater then this is not the movie for you, however, if you can appreciate a beautiful story of finding your true identity and can understand the gravity of that then this is a movie you'll treasure for years to come.
