Taking the close encounters story but using it to discuss the impact a communique from alien life would have on faith, religion and science and how relevant these strong conflicting ideologies are over the human population,.
Thoughtful but annoying in places Matthew McConaghey is such a douche in this yet the script demands Jodie Foster force her character in love with him.
While not your everyday sci fi the effects in this are absolutely spellbinding, the beauty of the cosmos conveyed to absolute perfection. and the gyroscope-like "Device" was pretty cool looking too. well worth watching on the biggest and best screen you can.
