Review of Contact (1997) by Jenna I — 29 Oct 2014
This movie made me emotional. I appreciate the female scientist protagonist, the criticisms of religious and political leaders, and the overall message of striving to be better and striving toward knowledge.
Is it too long? Yes. But overall I think it has a more interesting and complex narrative than other reviewers gave it credit for. I miss optimistic movies about empathic aliens who understand loneliness.
