Review of Contact (1997) by Ed C — 09 Dec 2012
"You feel so lost, so cut off, so alone, only you're not. See, in all our searching, the only thing we've found that makes the emptiness bearable is each other.".
"The most important thing is that you all keep searching for your own answers.".
A mix of sci-fi, love and personal journey that draws in the relationship between science and faith. Even though neither side's belief satisfies the other this film manages to rest in the awkward yet fantastic and inexplicable overlap between the two. A challenging and sometimes moving story that seeks more to accept the questions, rather than to strive for answers.
