Review of Constantine (2005) by Phillip D — 16 Dec 2014
Once again, I stand confused by the movie critics. While John Wick, which is essentially the same movie with a less original premise and cast, scored in the 90s, Constantine gets relegated to the 40s. These things make no sense.
While Constantine is deeply stereotypical and predictable to a tee, it is executed perfectly and the formula is used to perfection. The movie is very watchable, the action is fantastic and the characters are the satisfying kind of badass.
Add in some thoughtful undertones on religion and you have yourself a really solid film.
