I tried really hard to like this movie. After all, it had Keanu Reeves (The Matrix) kicking some demon ass in an adaptation of a horror/action comic! Unfortunately, Constantine just really fell flat for me.

The acting was okay by what I could see, but I could barely hear what anyone was saying. Most of the time, they're just whispering! If I could pull together a plot summary out of this film, I'd have to say that it follows John Constantine, a man who can see demons and because of his attempt at suicide when he was 15, his soul is eternally damned to hell when he does die.

When the ressurection of a satanic spear occurs, Satan's son Mammon is planning to come to Earth and rule. Now, it's up to Constantine to put a stop to his plans and save the world from eternal darkness.

As I stated earlier, I was very disappointed with this film. If I could put the good things in this film together shortly, it would be that the film looks visually stunning. While the CGI in the film is quite obvious, I was still able to live and breathe the world that this film has set up.

Other than this huge plus and the decent acting (which I could barely hear), this film is just not that well written. The story really tries to be smart with its good vs. evil plans, but it's nothing that I haven't seen before.

I really wish that I could give this film a higher rating because the premise was so intriguing and it looked interesting from the trailer, but Constantine is just an utter disappointment.
