This movie lets Mel Gibson do what he's really good at....act crazy.

He plays a conspiracy theorist with a haunted past who is creepily obsessed with Julia Roberts, but means well.

He ends up trying to protect her when one of his theories is true.

Mel Gibson shows yet again that he can effortlessly do a good job in film. When he's struggling to find words to say cuz his mind is moving too fast im like "come on man spit it out!" When he's heartbroken over something important to him I feel for him, maybe moreso than his character in Ransom.

Overall this isn't his best film. He never has the chance to do angry Mel Gibson and kick ass like he should but that just wouldnt fit his character either. I never remember feeling bored during this and tho Mel's performance is very over the top, it's subdued when it needs to be during decently romantic scenes and serious times.

Also, Julia Roberts seems like she gives a crap in this movie when can't be said about a lot of her films lately where she seems to think strutting and smiling is all she needs. I totally believed her and the other characters, especially Patrick Stewart who played a good villan.

The opening cab scene, the ending, and a few key scenes in the middle of the film I wont mention pull this film to it's B rating (id give it an 85%)...
