While the original Planet of the Ape film can't be topped, of the 5 Ape films this one is by far the second best of the series. This film has an uncanny quality to it that strikes at the heart of some real truth regarding class war and slave revolt that I find attractive.
Its no accident that the new rise of the planet of the apes is based on this film as it has a message for our age indeed..
