Review of Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972) by John G — 20 Jun 2011
This 1972 movie takes us far into the future (to 1991) where the military wear SS style uniforms and everyone has apes for pets, help and menial tasks. The ape revolt trys to highlight modern human rights issues but the overall effect is pretty silly.
This "Planet of the Apes" series has a temporal loop in it, in that the son of the intelligent apes from the future is causal factor in the apes taking over the world, thus leading to the ape society presented in the first movie.
Guess I shouldn't read too much into these films!
