Much darker than the previous Apes movies, this does a good job of showing us how we get to a world ruled by Apes, and frankly, we're on their side, as the humans enslaving them to begin with are pretty hateful.
Following on directly from Escape, this has none of that film's humour, and just it's hard-side. So not a fun film, but a good one, albeit one that seems to have been entirely filmed in one deserted shopping plaza.
