Review of Connie and Carla (2004) by John C — 28 Aug 2004
Garden State was both really good and really disappointing. I liked it a lot, but the humor was a bit less dark and also not as much. Portman's character was kind of annoying as a person, though played well. Things I liked about this movie and things that left me thinking I shouln't care.
Airplane is a classic. Humor at its finest. this side of Groucho marx. no obsesive thinking, yet miles above much of the direct comedies of the day.
Connie and Carla was not a bad movie as I expected. In fact it had some great humour moment. The premise was a bit predictable. The movie was still very surprising in how good it was. I recomend as a good comedy, that is funny and funny.
