Review of Connie and Carla (2004) by Marcus M — 14 Aug 2005
A fun, superficial movie to watch. A nice combination of Sister Act and To Wong Foo. Don't expect anything deep or profound. The scenes between David Duchovny and his on-screen, drag queen brother only scratch the surface of what such a relationship must truly be like.
Nia and Toni have amazing voices - the musical numbers are great fun. A "6" because I found some of the 'campiness' a bit forced. There are many great one-liners and sentimental scenes that don't cloy.
