Review of Connie and Carla (2004) by Samantha S — 08 Nov 2009
Cute. Connie and Carla annoyed me as women, but their personalities seemed much more subdued as drag queens.
It was interesting that there is no indication on the DVD box that this is a movie about women dressing as drag queens. There's some kind of vague description about them "changing" or "disguising themselves" in order to improve their career and run from the mob, but they avoid talking about drag at all. That's a weirdly wussy move, like they're trying to trick people into watching a movie about drag queens. I had read the description online, so I knew what it was going to be, but it's THE WHOLE CENTRAL STORY OF THE MOVIE. Put it on the box.
