Review of Confidence Girl (1952) by Allan C — 28 Mar 2014
Tom Conway and Hillary Brooke are a couple grifters in 1950s LA running various scams, leading up to a big one where she plays a nightclub psychic. I love films about con men and this film had a nice set up with two good leads, but the film is cheaply made and has a rather turgid Dragnet-like stiffness to it that drains any potential life the film was going to have.
Still, Conway is charming in a George Sanders sort of way.
