Review of Confidence (2003) by John R — 17 Dec 2007
Amateurish in almost every way, this film just tries too hard for its own good. Lots of wasted talent (and one no-talent - Edward Burns - in the lead role, of all things) and overly "hip" dialog don't help.
James Foley does his best, but with a script that screams "bad Tarantino knockoff" (complete with extremely gratuitous and copious-to-the-point-of-distracting profanity) and an all-too-predictable ending (the way all films about con-men seem to end), the result is mediocre at best.
Decent music, though.
