Review of Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009) by Aaishaa M — 01 Apr 2010
Shop till you drop is the name of the game for Rebecca Bloomwood until one day the dreaded â??declineâ?? shows up on her credit card and itâ??s clear to everyone that this obsession is spiraling out of control. Along side, a pesky creditor is on her trail determined to make her pay for everything she owes. Broke and alone, Rebeccaâ??s mission is set, she needs to find a way to pay off her debts, or rather be able to pay for a new Chanel purse. In times of desperation, she gets a job dishing out financial advice to readers, only to come to the realization of how unstable everything really is. Still bordering on bankruptcy, Rebecca must figure out whether life is worth more than a pair of pumps.
This was a light-hearted movie to watch based on Sophia Kinsella's novel. Isla Fisher is upbeat and spunky with some characteristics of Cher from Clueless and Elle from Legally Blonde. When you add in a cute love interest, some humourous one-liners, itâ??s certainly a fun chick-flick to enjoy.
