Review of Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009) by Laura D — 27 May 2012

This film is not aimed at me, and the film has a lot of problems. But I never found this movie affecting me negatively, and with every script flaw it never made me scoff, or get anoyed. It was just throwaway fun, and the main character is likeable, and it is extremely predictable, but easy to watch.

You will forget this movie in a few days, maybe even a few days, but it still is fun whilst watching the movie. This isn't my favourite type of movie at all, as they are basically the same, but I loved the cast, with John Goodman.

Which sums it up! One big problem in the movie though was Leslie Bibb, who I just thought was awful. Every line was given so poorly, that it just pulled down the scene, and I didn't feel much for her, which was important, as she was, virtually, the villian of the story, and so the story fell a little flat due to a poor villain.

I liked some of the ideas in the movie, with some CGI work that I didn't expect, and it was subtlely effective in the movie, although a bit cheesey near the end. Overall, this movie works for what it is, and it is completely throwaway, predictable and forgettable- but I enjoyed it for what it is.
