Review of Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009) by Sherry C — 11 Nov 2011
As expected, the movie is just simply using the same character names of the novel and develop its own story plots, so I wasn't that disappointment that the story plots is totally different from the novel.
Although it is based on the novel, it just look likes it's based on a comic book rather than a novel. I mean Isla Fisher is simply overacting as "Rebecca Bloomwood" with a comic personality. And dunno why I found it lika a long TV series but combined together rather than a movie.
Besides, even I already know Patricia Field did all the fashion styling for this movie, the outfits inside this movie wasnâ??t that impressed me like Sex and The City did (remember that VW wedding dress?). In fact, Aliciaâ??s (Leslie Bibb) outfits were more impressed me than Rebeccaâ??s, except the purple outfit that she worn for â??Morning Coffeeâ?? (Itâ??s gorgeous, isnâ??t it?).
But I glad that many "classic" scenes were in the movie. Including the "aunt " plot and the "Denny and George" scarf!!
Yes. Finally, we can have a look of that famous but not existing in the real world "Denny and George" scarf. Different from the novel, they used "a girl with a green scarf" to link up with the whole story. Itâ??s a clever move. Although I found the "Denny and George" scarf is not as stunning as described in the book, it still impressed me, just in another way.
Some funny scenes in the movie make it as a very relaxing film and really suitable for the girls who canâ??t resist the calling of the displaying windows to watch.
But, can they just find a cuter girl to be Becky and a hotter guy to be that gorgeous and cute Luke Brandon?
