Review of Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009) by Rob L — 05 Nov 2010
Innocent superficial entertainment with a confused message. But the rag trade does not escape justified criticism, and the parallels between superficial people and their superficial relationships, and the banale triviality of so many moneyed lives are nicely presented by a decorative cast, a conventional romantic sub-plot and a dozy script labouring to get to some nice one-liners.
"Do you speak Prada?" .... not bad. But the animated mannikins tempting the newly-virtuous heroine are superb, and make the show.
