Rockwell gives a powerful performance as Barris, made possible by Kaufman's incredible adapted script. As director, Clooney played with the film set to produce some eye-catching imagery, subverting the rules of space and time (the scene in which Rockwell receives a phone call at his house from a TV producer whose office is in the same set stands out in memory).
