Solid directoral debut by George Clooney, but it does help that the screenwriter is Charlie Kaufman. Rockwell pretty much IS Chuck Barris, Barrymore is appealing as his long suffering girlfriend, and if you don't believe Barris the prankster wasn't pulling everybody's leg, I've got some wetlands in the Mojave to sell you.
