Review of Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002) by Daniel A — 16 Nov 2011
Quite adventurous in its outlandish way, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind is a fun watch thanks to its star-studded cast and Clooney's unexpectedly decent debut in the director's chair. Sam Rockwell in the lead role carries much of the film with a strong performance that shows yet again what a great talent he is, meanwhile Charlie Kaufman's typically nutty script forms the backbone of the movie from which Clooney forms the semi-serious and unashamedly retro tone via pop art visuals and brash entertainment factor.
It's not quite a homerun but Confessions... is an amusing film with plenty of merit.
