Review of Concussion (2015) by Joseph F — 29 Jan 2016
Will Smith's performance is far and away the best part of Concussion, which falls flat otherwise. The film is ultimately predictable and paints Dr. Bennett Omalu as clueless in the field he studied.
There are no thrills, no tension, and ultimately very little resolve. Director Peter Landesman took the safe route with Concussion and did not dare to explore anything beyond what we already knew in the 2000s about CTE.
