Review of Concussion (2015) by Nate Z — 30 Dec 2015
Concussion gave an impression of Profit before people! Post Concussion syndrome has been ignored. One wonders how much the pressure of winning kept a culture of ignorance in the N F L? Concussion accurately portrays the madness that dementia induces as proteins suffocates the brain.
Concussion protagonist is an immigrant with no knowledge of the N F L wonders how do these athletes get early dementia. Omalu notices M R I/ Cat scans show nothing and on the coroner's own dollar uses slices of former Steeler Webster's brain and discovers brain trauma.
Concussion storyline is scientific method vs emotion and corporate greed. The darkside of humanity hits as the truth is revealed. Football/N F L is cultural and economically a big social force when one challenges football, one is challenging America itself.
A moving ending when one of the N FL board members experiences the irony of brain trauma. A movie I will not forget! Three stars.
