Review of Concussion (2015) by Jim H — 01 Jan 2016
Excellent storytelling docudrama that stays true to the PBS documentary that it was seemingly based on (do what I did, though: see the movie first...more entertaining that way). Will Smith accomplishes something rare for him: he loses himself in his role and becomes the man he's portraying.
He carries the film well, but gets strong accompanying performances from Alec Baldwin and a lot of no-name actors who will get some future mileage out of what they did here. David Morse is also fantastic in the limited time he's on the screen, and steals the first 1/4 of the movie.
This movie will keep your attention and then some-even if you don't care about football.
