Concussion is an interesting drama that boasts a great central performance. Unfortunately, the film's script and direction lacks. Let's start with the good. Will Smith is great in the lead role.
It was a really good subdued performance. The supporting cast was also good, including Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Alec Baldwin. But Mbatha-Raw's character is very underdeveloped. Now to the negatives. The film is pretty cliched.
The film is directed in such a heavy-handed manner. Also, the script isn't great. The writing and dialogue are very cliched. The film still is interesting for the most part. Overall, this is a good drama that doesn't have enough to be called great.
It is a great performance in an ok movie.
