Review of Conan the Barbarian (2011) by Eric J — 08 Feb 2012
If you can forget Robert E. Howard's classics tales and the classic Schwarzenegger films of the 80s, then you can probably enjoy Conan the Barbarian as a decent fantasy romp filled with gratuitous violence and nudity together with muscled heroics and dark wizardry.
As I a fan of both Howard and the Schwarzenegger films, I couldn't help but find this remake somewhat disappointing. However, that being said, Conan the Barbarian featured genuinely brutal violence and passionate lovemaking in the spirit of Howard's stories.
Entertaining? Yes! Classic or Intelligent? Not quite.....
