Review of Conan the Barbarian (2011) by Andrew K — 16 Jul 2012

Sure the plot isn't anything special and there are several generic side characters, but this movie manages to succeed in ways many hollywood action movies fail. Plenty of gore, a female support character who can actually fight and racks up her own body count, some truly brutal and badass moments, and of coarse, Conan showing just how much of a barbarian he really is.

All this and the movie still ends up being reverent to the Arnold Schwarzenegger classic by having several so cheesy yet awesome lines and moments. Conan the Barbarian may be far from perfect, but it is still a good movie.
