Really, if you are a fan of the genre, there's nothing amiss here. Yeah it's schlocky and stiffly (not poorly!) acted. But it's quintessential, beautiful, sword and sorcery fare. There have been better lines, in just as epic movies, but no one was expecting poetry.
Don't compare the movie Conan to the movie Lord of the Rings. Just like you wouldn't compare the books. One is pulp fiction, the other is epic fantasy. And seriously, Jason is sexier than Arnold, hands down.
