Review of Conan the Barbarian (2011) by Akilo R — 02 May 2013
Not bad, but not great. It lacks the charm of the original, being more serious. The villain is less compelling, the magic feels cheap and inconsistent, and the central romance is a bit shallow. Momoa is pretty dang good, though, and the action is usually well-executed.
I get the feeling I would have liked it more of it didn't have so much to live up to thanks to its title.
