Review of Conan the Barbarian (1982) by Steve W — 20 Oct 2012
A savage and brutal sword/sorcery epic starring Arnold Schwarzenegger in one of his first roles. The movie has a great rustic feel to it, with tons of bloody and old-school visual effects. Especially impressive for the time were the animatronic giant snakes.
James Earl Jones is in top form as the villain, and its the chanting and heavy percussion musical score that really makes this movie feel bigger and epic in tone and scope. A bloody good time, and Conan has never looked better on glorious blu-ray.
