Review of Conan the Barbarian (1982) by Lee Anne W — 30 May 2013
This movie is brilliant in it's simplicity. Not everything is explained in plain English, you have to pay close attention to the details. Treat it like you are there, without having the crutch of a narrator explaining to you why something is happening.
Imagine you are in Conan's place, not knowing the language being spoken. All you know is what you see and hear. I can see how some people might hate that, but if you let yourself get immersed it can be really enjoyable.
Do not watch it with people who talk during movies. I refuse to watch the updated version since I can tell from the previews it already completely misses the point of Conan.
