Review of Conan O'Brien Can't Stop (2011) by Birte Valkyrje R — 15 Sep 2011
I'm a big fan of Conan O'Brien's so I mostly enjoyed this documentary about his road tour about being let go from NBC. Having said that, I think this film is only enjoyable to Conan fans like me.
Obviously, there are funny parts but the best parts of the film involve an inside look at Conan's life and mentality. He literally can't stop. He is addicted to being in front of crowds and people.
He loves the celebrity rush. The weakness of the film is in its lack of exploration of these complex themes. The movie is a patchwork of a bunch of Conan's shows, gags and guest stars but this would have been far superior if it explored the complex relationship between fame as a job and regular life.
