Review of Conan O'Brien Can't Stop (2011) by Kyle E — 28 Sep 2011
While Conan O'Brien Can't Stop sheds much light on how Conan felt after being pushed off of his twenty-two years of service at NBC, this documentary relies on more clips from his comedy tour then it does on actually answering any questions I had about the ordeal.
Maybe I was looking for more here, but I can't help but feel somewhat disappointed. When Conan is funny, he is hilarious, that is true, but everything else comes off as a bit strained. The best moments are those Conan shares with other celebrities, such as brief appearances from Jim Carry, Eddie Vedder, and a few cast members of some of the NBC sitcoms I watch Thursday nights.
It does make me walk away with the feeling that it is a dirty shame that Conan got screwed at NBC in the end, but that's what the documentary is designed to do. It will please fans of Team Coco, but anyone else is going to walk away somewhat disappointed.
