Review of Conan O'Brien Can't Stop (2011) by Christopher C — 13 Oct 2011
A disjointed and ultimately boring look at Conan O'Brien's public departure from NBC and subsequent national tour. Likely due to the legal restrictions put it place by NBC, the documentary focuses only fleetingly on O'Brien's spat with NBC.
A public beating of Jay Leno in effigy is about as close as we get to catharsis over O'Brien's forced exit in favor of the eternally unfunny Jay Leno. O'Brien spends much of the ninety minute film romping around stage playing guitar and fake singing rock lyrics--as Dana Carvey once said, "It is the dream of all comedians to be rock stars.
" Here--Conan O'Brien is no different. Yes, O'Brien was done wrong by NBC, but this film does absolutely nothing to make it right.
