Review of Con Air (1997) by Miguel P — 12 Mar 2010
I finally got to see this movie after a lot of people have recommened it to me.
Con Air is just like every other action movie that came out in the 90's. Dumb silly fun this is what this movie is. Nicolas Cage plays a Army Ranger who kills a man by mistake while protecting his wife from thugs. His lawyer tells him to pleade guilty because of his milltary training. he goes to jail for 8 years. When he is finally out he has to board a prison plane basically.
The penal system does something very smart they decide to put all the craziest killers and rapists on the plane. That's really smart isn't. Of course you already know they take over the plane, and good old Cage gots to stop them. The movie is absurd and very implausible and ultraviolent. Hey, it was entertaining who wants more in a action film. A cacthy song, violence to say "eewwww" and Cage what more do you want.
There's not much plot going on but I'm sorry John Malkovich did not convince me as a bad guy. I did not feel malice it all felt forced but other then that it's a good thrill ride.
MP *** 3/5 PEACE.
