Review of Con Air (1997) by Adam B — 17 Jan 2013
They just don't make films like this anymore. It's full of flaws and at points you wonder how it's so difficult to not mess up such a simple and decent plot. Nicholas Cage is completely over the top and annoyingly heroic, the 'good guys' as in the US Marshalls or whatever they were, are portrayed as unprepared, irrational idiots, theres loads of stereotypical characters, the dialogue at times is complete cheese and I'm not sure if they ever explained why all the most dangerous criminals were put on a plane together.
But despite all that, like a lot of 80's/90's films it's so easy to let that wash over you and still enjoy it a lot.
