Review of Con Air (1997) by Robyn M — 29 Jul 2012
Following the success of The Rock, this is the second film in the one-two punch provided by the Bruckheimer/Cage pairing of the 90's. Full of suspense and non-stop thrills, Con Air manages to be one of the most entertaining action films in recent history.
Despite the distracting southern drawl, Nicolas Cage is convincing as kind-hearted, yet lethal inmate Cameron Poe. John Malkovich turns in another excellent performance as antagonist Cyrus The Virus. Even the minor characters are well-developed, which helps drive the plot to its thrilling and explosive conclusion.
