Review of Compulsion (1959) by Jeff B — 09 May 2010
Well done true story about two friends who kill a guy to prove how smart they and expect to get away with it (Hitchcock told the story in Rope). This focuses on the aftermath of the incident on how they got caught and their case.
While a young Dean Stockwell does a nice job, the standout is, not surprising, Orson Welles who plays their attorney. His closing argument is quite amazing, I wish he was in the film more. E G Marshall is also very good.
Overall, a nice ensemble and a well told story, it's worth checking out.
