Review of Compliance (2012) by Amanda H — 09 Jan 2013
The biggest thing that kept me watching this film was simply that I was trying to figure out how any ONE person, much less an entire restaurant full of employees, could be so absolutely stupid. There was nothing about this prank that made any logical sense whatsoever.
But since this is based on something that actually happened, as many as 70 times, you can't fault the movie for being unrealistic. It just astounds me how completely blind the human race can be. This movie is disturbing and I can completely understand why it incited so much anger at Sundance.
It's well made, but very difficult to watch.
