Review of Company of Heroes (2013) by Jay C — 01 Jul 2014
One of the worst Modern WWII movies. The production quality was terrible, many of the effects (explosions muzzle flashes on aircraft etc) were obviously CG, and poorly done CG at that.
Even though this is a fictional movie, you still need to have some realism to make it believable!
I don't think I remember seeing them reload a single time. I mean you don't need to make sure you have a reload every 20 shots on a Thompson for example, but at least show them pulling a mag every once in a while. Many of the american troops were using Bolt action rifles. C'mon folks. They used M1 Garands as their primary battle rifle, these were not bolt action rifles, they were semi-automatic rifles.
The tanks... boy this was irritating since they were in a number of shots. These were not German tanks, they were RUSSIAN T-34s. They barely even did anything to try to hide it except use some foam extensions on their turrets. There are a number of German tanks out there that are actually operational you could have rented, and if not that. If you want to find out how you use a T-34 chassis to fake a tiger? Look at saving private Ryan(1998!). Those are also T-34s, but they do it believably. If this was made in 1985, I wouldn't be so critical, but this was made in 2013!
