Review of Commando (1985) by Tracey H — 27 Nov 2011
Commando is one is a good action movie with a good story, action, and good performances by Schwarzenegger and the rest of the cast. Commando is about John Matrix who is a retired Commando living in the country with his daughter Jenny.
One day a Latin American dictator captures Jenny and threatens Matrix that he will kill his daughter if he doesn't kill the dictators president. Matrix soon escapes and now he has a certain time limit to get to his daughter before she is killed.
He also gets the help from a civilian Cindy who has her reasons wanting the dictator dead. Commando isn't the best action film but it is a very enjoyable one. I liked the story of this movie because it's good enough to make a good action movie and thats exactly what it does.
The action was good enough to entertain me throughout the film but this isn't the best of action films but it's still good. Arnold Schwarzenegger is good in this movie but this is not the best he's been in considering all the classic action films he's stared in.
Rae Dawn Chong is good as Cindy who got pulled along for the mission after Matrix escaped from the bad guys. Overall Commando is a good enjoyable action film that should entertain you throughout the movie with a good Schwarzenegger performance but not his best.
